Agency membership in GMIS International is open to public sector agencies or jurisdictions at any level of government (federal, state, county, city, etc.), including schools (K-20) and special districts. Each agency member organization designates one person to serve as the organization’s voting representative. Other individuals within the agency member’s organization may participate in GMIS activities at the stated rates for members. If an individual moves or transfers to another organization, they may maintain GMIS International membership only if the new organization is also a GMIS International member in good standing.
Agency membership dues are based on the organization’s technology budget
- Annual Budget less than $250,000 – Dues: $100
- Annual Budget between $250,000 - $999,999 – Dues: $200
- Annual Budget between $1,000,000 - $2,999,999 – Dues: $375
- Annual Budget over $3,000,000 – Dues: $500
Any NEW member agency joining between April 1 and June 30 will receive the remainder of the current fiscal year FREE (maximum of 3 months – GMIS fiscal year ends on June 30) with payment credited towards the next fiscal year dues beginning on July 1.
In addition to regular membership as described above, there are two additional categories of Membership for Agency Members:
Individual Memberships are available for individuals who are transitioning between agencies and may be temporarily unemployed. Retired public sector technology professionals may also join as an individual provided they are not working for another employer. Individual members do not have voting rights and may not hold leadership positions in GMIS International.
Annual Individual Membership Dues: $100
Student Memberships are available to full-time college students who are pursuing studies in information technology/management and have an interest in pursuing a career in public service. Student members do not have voting rights and may not hold leadership positions in GMIS International.
