Leadership team established at GMIS International's recent annual conference.
Atlanta, Georgia – August 4, 2010 – GMIS International is pleased to announce its 2010-2011 Officers and Board of Directors.
· President – Johnny Walton, Aiken County, South Carolina · 1st Vice President – Rick Bareuther, City of Sparks, Nevada · 2nd Vice President – Paul Ruth, Cobb County, Georgia · 3rd Vice President – Janet Claggett, Richland County, South Carolina · 4th Vice President – Jim Buston, City of Auburn, Alabama · Treasurer – Sam Ferguson, Village of Schaumburg, Illinois · Chapter Development – Lori-Ann Fox, City of East Providence, Rhode Island · International Director – Doug Taylor, City of Tuscaloosa, Alabama · Executive Director – June Randall, Miami/Dade Police Department, Florida
The newly elected Board was installed at the 2010 GMIS International Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Under the leadership of Conference Chairperson Jerry Cornish, the very successful annual conference was attended by more than 100 public sector IT leaders and technology vendors, including international delegates from Canada, The Netherlands, and New Zealand.
"This past year has been very exciting for GMIS International. With the launch of a new website, and implementation of electronic balloting, GMIS International has increased transparency and enhanced the value of GMIS membership. I look forward to new opportunities to increase membership in GMIS International and expand our partner relationships with the introduction of the new GMIS Vendor Partner Program.” newly elected President Johnny Walton stated. GMIS International also announced that Sue Farni of the City of Mobile, Alabama will serve as Chairperson of the 2011 annual conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
