2000 Management Information Systems
Annual Professional Award
Kevin Perry
The judges have made their decision on the
Management Information Systems Annual Professional Award (MISAPA) for 2000. This year's
winner is Mr. Kevin Perry, Technical Support Specialist Supervisor with the Utah
Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. Kevin's nomination was submitted by his manager,
Mr. Brad Brown. Brad describes Kevin as a dynamic and energetic professional who is always
one step ahead of most in identifying ways of improving the agency's information systems
and in resolving customer concerns.
As one of his agency's technical leaders,
Kevin quickly became the expert in the complex commercial applications that were acquired
and deployed during the past three years. During a Y2K focused project, every line of code
and every piece of computer hardware had to be replaced and Kevin was instrumental in the
success of this project.
Kevin and the point-of-sale project team are
not new to being recognized. Early this year, the team was honored to receive the
Governor's annual CIO award for successfully implementing the point-of-sale system in the
state's chain of 36 retail liquor stores. While this was a team effort, none contributed
more to the success of this project than Kevin.
On behalf of GMIS and all of our information
technology professionals please join me in congratulating Mr. Kevin Perry as this year's
winner. If you will be in Atlanta in June please stop and personally congratulate Kevin
and when it is MISAPA time next year submit your organization's nominee. |
