1999 Management Information Systems
Annual Professional Award
Nora Fucci
Every year your GMIS organization takes time
to solicit and remind its membership that we all have outstanding staff members who help
us get the job done for our respective organizations. This year was no different. This
year we had a number of submissions and over all did a better job than last year. We still
owe it to our team members and our GMIS organization to do an even better job next year,
and have all of our membership submit an applicant.
With that said it gives me great pleasure to
announce this year's winner of the 1999 MISAPA Award. This year's winner hails from Nags
Head North Carolina and her application was submitted by Ginger Candelora, MIS Coordinator
for Nags Head.
Our 1999 MISAPA award goes to Nora Fucci.
Nora is the MIS assistant for the town and although having only been with the town for a
couple of years in completely involved with IT activities. According to her coordinator
she has worked tirelessly on Nags Head's Y2K effort where she was and is responsible for
the Y2K team, inventorying all hardware and software systems and is currently evaluating
the towns outside service providers.
Nora has also been instrumental in Nags Head
improving their hardware infrastructure, arranging and coordinating town-wide computer
training and was the lead person in bringing on-line banking service to Nags Head local
government. If that is not enough, Nora also is the front line contact for all telephone
and telecommunications questions.
Nora's manager puts it best, "Nora's
professional and personal ethics are her strongest attributes. She invariably contributes
to the general good of her organization and is always available to the Nags Head end user.
She has earned the unfailing respect and trust of her co-workers and customers."
Congratulations, Nora Fucci, on being this
year's MISAPA. All of you attending this year's conference in Charlotte will get a chance
to congratulate Nora in person. Nora will receive an all expense paid trip to the
conference and will receive her award during the conference proceedings.
Thanks to all who participated in this years
MISAPA award program and again, CONGRATULATIONS NORA FUCCI, 1999 MISAPA!
