1997 GMIS Professional of the Year
Diane Woodley
Northhampton County, Pennsylvania
The Government Management Information Sciences (GMIS) 1997
management systems Professional of the Year Award is to be presented to Diane Woodley from
the Information Services Division of the County of Northhampton, Pennsylvania.
Diane has been with the County of Northhampton for more than 12
years. She began there as a junior programmer and advanced to Programmer/Analyst, Senior
Programmer Analyst, Lead Analyst and lastly Finance consultant. Diane has participated in
the development of numerous systems for the County. She has designed, developed and
implemented systems such as Recorder of Deeds Indexing, Criminal Costs/Fines Collections
and Real Estate Installment Billing and Collections to name just a few. She also has
worked closely with third party software vendors customizing Finance and Payroll/Personnel
packages for the County.
Diane's recent major accomplishment has been the development of an
RFP for client/server based financial systems for the County. Because of the county-wide
impact of the system, Diane conducted 26 separate divisional interviews to gather needed
information. Although she was still responsible for maintaining existing legacy systems
while developing the RFP, by working numerous 12 hour days and many weekends, she
delivered the RFP document on schedule.
Diane is a graduate of West Chester University with a BS in
Mathematics.
Diane will be honored with an expense paid trip to
the National GMIS Conference in Mobile, Alabama in June 1997 where she will receive her
award.
