International GMIS Mission Statement |
The mission of International GMIS is to provide an organizational structure and network with associated activities, which may be used by all State, County, and Local government agencies and educational institutions which are members in order to help them in their information and automation endeavors and with associated projects and problems. Purpose The purpose of GMIS is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, information, and techniques; to foster enhancement in hardware, software and communication developments as they relate to government activities. Over twenty-five years ago, a group of computer professionals, realizing all of us
need help from time to time, organized GMIS to foster sharing among all levels of
government involved in our endless world of technology. Not to be confused with other user
groups, GMIS focuses solely on sharing situations related to government information
